Bulker-Freight-Distance is a sea distance calculator and a dry bulk freight rate estimator, built and operated by topporation. The site also answers on the shorter address sea-distance.com — the same site, the same account, the same two tools.

The distance calculator routes a sea passage between any two of over 3,000 ports over real shipping lanes — not a straight line drawn across the globe — and adds the voyage time once you tell it how fast the ship sails.

The freight estimator names a cargo, a parcel size and two ports, works out the ship that parcel would fit, and estimates the voyage's fuel, port costs and any canal toll as a rate in US dollars per metric tonne. It is an estimate, not a quote: see the FAQ for what it does and does not account for.
